Kitzsteinhorn Glacier – the impressive, distinctive peak in the Hohe Tauern, Austria
The Kitzsteinhorn dominates the appearance of the Zell am See-Kaprun region. It is the only 3.000 metres high mountain in the Salzburger Land. The mountain is located north of the Alpine crest within the municipal area of Kaprun, Salzburg. It was first climbed in 1828 by local mountaineer Johann Entacher.
All photographs capture the game of light and shadow during the last hours of the day. The winter setting was chosen for its encompassing of the essential elements of Earth: mountain, light, shadow, and sky. All photographs examine emotions in how the world can be depicted with infinitely different and deliberate minimalism.
